our story

Emery Farms was founded on creating a healthier local community around locally and sustainably grown microgreens. Microgreens are traditionally used as garnishes on dishes at nicer restaurants, without really being considered in an every day diet. Our goal is to change this. Microgreens are some of the most nutrient dense superfoods on the planet - these little greens pack a massive nutritional punch; not to mention the intense flavor profiles! The fact that they are not part of your daily diet is a problem & we exist to change that. WHAT ARE MICROGREENS?

Microgreens are adolescent versions of your favorite veggies, herbs & greens. Microgreens are typically harvested 10-14 days after germination, are incredibly flavorful & packed with nutrients. So nutrient dense that some varieties are 40x as nutritious as their full grown vegetable counterpart.

WHY WILL I LOVE MICROGREENS?

Chefs love microgreens because they add so much face value to their dishes. Not only are they a beautiful garnish for their dishes, but also have intense flavor profiles to play off of the main dish. The flavors of the microgreens are much more concentrated than their full grown counterpart.

Consumers love microgreens for their incredible health benefits. In a study done at the University of Maryland Dept. of Agriculture, it was found that most microgreens contain 4-40x nutritional value of it's equivalent weight in the fully grown version of the veggie.
